Export to the Philippines: 250 LPH Dual-Stage Reverse Osmosis + EDI Pharmaceutical Purified Water System (SS304/316L)

This 250Lph (liters per hour) dual-stage reverse osmosis +EDI purified water equipment is specially designed to meet the strict requirements of the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and related high-tech industries in the Philippines for high-purity process water. The system takes “pretreatment + double-stage reverse osmosis (RO) + electro-deionization (EDI) + precision polishing” as its core integrated process, and can continuously and stably produce high-quality pure water that meets the standards of various national pharmacopoeias (such as USP, EP, ChP) and even water for injection (WFI). It is applicable to key links such as raw material preparation, rinsing, formulation and laboratory research in pharmaceutical production.

System process overview

The system adopts a fully automatic modular design, with a precise and efficient process

250 LPH Dual-Stage Reverse Osmosis-2

Pretreatment unit: In light of the common water source characteristics in the Philippines, a multi-media filter is configured to remove suspended solids and colloids. An activated carbon filter deeply adsorbs residual chlorine and organic matter to protect the subsequent membrane system. A water softener or scale inhibitor dosing system effectively controls the tendency of scaling, ensuring that the water quality entering the reverse osmosis system reaches the best state.

250 LPH Dual-Stage Reverse Osmosis-3

Core purification module: A two-stage reverse osmosis system is adopted for deep desalination. The product water of the first-stage RO serves as the feed water for the second-stage RO, significantly reducing the total dissolved solids (TDS). The system’s desalination rate is stably above 99%. The secondary RO product water then enters the electro-deionization (EDI) module. Without the need for acid or alkali chemical regeneration, it can further reduce the ion content in the water to an extremely low level through the electro-migration and continuous electro-regeneration process of the ion exchange resin. The resistivity of the produced water can reach up to 15-18 MΩ·cm.

Post-treatment and distribution unit: The EDI product water undergoes final microbial control and particulate matter interception through an ultraviolet (UV) sterilizer and a precision filter (optional 0.22μm). The circulating distribution system with 316L stainless steel polished pipelines and storage tanks, combined with pasteurization or superheated water disinfection functions, ensures stable water quality and no secondary pollution during the distribution process.

Core processing system description

Two-stage RO+EDI integrated system: The core membrane stack and EDI module are installed on a sturdy SS304 stainless steel frame. The key water-related contact components, especially the EDI module itself, the final polishing circulation pipeline and the storage tank, are all made of higher grade 316L ultra-low carbon stainless steel, which has excellent corrosion resistance (especially against chloride ions), high surface finish, and fully complies with the hygiene design standards of the pharmaceutical industry.

250 LPH Dual-Stage Reverse Osmosis-5

Intelligent control system: Equipped with a centralized control cabinet based on PLC and color touch screen (HMI), it comprehensively monitors all key parameters such as the conductivity of raw water, the conductivity/resistivity of each level of produced water, working pressure, flow rate, and UV intensity. The system is equipped with fully automatic operation, timed flushing, chemical cleaning (CIP), thermal disinfection programs, and multi-level fault alarm and protection functions. The operation interface can be adapted to English, and the electrical specifications comply with the local voltage and frequency standards of the Philippines.

Technical advantages and performance features

The water quality of the produced water is excellent and stable: The system can produce high-purity water with a resistivity consistently stable at ≥10 MΩ·cm (at 25℃), total organic carbon (TOC) ≤50 ppb, bacterial endotoxin ≤0.001 EU/mL, and the microbial control level is far below the limit values stipulated in the pharmacopoeia, providing a reliable guarantee for high-end pharmaceutical applications.

High-level materials and hygienic design: The optimized combination of 304 and 316L stainless steel ensures the overall structural strength and economy while adopting the highest corrosion resistance standards in the most critical water quality refining and storage distribution stages. It meets the strict requirements of GMP for equipment surfaces and pipeline systems, and ADAPTS to the challenges that may be brought by tropical environments.

Fully automatic continuous operation, high efficiency and environmental protection: EDI technology replaces the traditional mixed ion exchange bed, achieving continuous water production and zero chemical regeneration wastewater, significantly reducing operating costs and environmental protection pressure. The system has a high degree of automation, is easy to maintain and highly reliable.

Strong adaptability design: In response to the high-temperature and high-humidity climate characteristics of the Philippines, both the electrical system and the control system have undergone corresponding protective designs. The system has a strong buffering capacity for fluctuations in the quality of the influent water, ensuring that it can still output a constant high-quality product water under variable conditions.
